Thank you for your interest in placing work with us. Sport Literate now takes online submissions. It saves money, time, and trees. It helps keep us better organized. It gives you access to the status of your work. It may even speed up the process a bit.

Do read our guidelines. This might save you from some obvious mistakes, such as submitting fiction. Better yet, we encourage you to read a back issue or two of the magazine to make yourself sport literate. Back issues can be purchased online. For convenience, you can also order a subscription online.

Please note: the editors will no longer accept e-mailed files. To use Sport Literate’s new online submission tool, please take a moment to register with your contact information. Do it once, and then you are in the system. Follow the prompts to upload your essay or poem(s).

If you are already registered, log in here to check the status of your submission.

Your work is the lifeblood of Sport Literate. Please be patient as we read it. If you have not received a response from us in four months’ time, you may send an e-mail query (please include the title in the subject line).

If you absolutely must send paper, please be informed that we will recycle all manuscripts. Include an SASE with your submission if you want a paper response. This may take longer than the Cubs getting to the World Series.
