2016 Poetry Contest

Your winning poem is worth $300

Use that extra day in February to write a sporty poem that knocks our socks off. Then take another two weeks to refine it before sending it our way. We’ll send our favorites anonymously to Frank Van Zant. Frank’s favorite wins the 300 large.

A $25 shot also covers a two-issue subscription (a $20 value)

It’s like $8.33 per poem. Pay your $25 reading fee and send up to three sport-themed poems (in one Word file, please). Easy entry through Submittable, our online submission tool. All submissions will be considered for publication. Please let us know if you’d like your subscription to start with the current issue, or the issue that you’re submitting for. U.S. domestic addresses only. Sorry, Canada.

If you must, snail mail may be sent to our post office box with a check for $25 (Sport Literate 2248 W. Belmont #20 Chicago, IL 60618). You might want to give us an email head’s up if you’re doing this.

Your deadline:

Midnight, April 15 2016
